Changelog

Release notes people can read, written from the commits and pull requests between two refs.

  1. Your release

    Your changelog shows up here

ShipNotes reads the commits and merged pull requests between two refs, sorts them into breaking changes, features, improvements, fixes and docs, and links every line back to its source.

How it works

Fetch

The server reads the compare range from the GitHub REST API, then the merged PRs behind each commit. Responses are cached in memory and the range is capped at 150 commits.

Write

One OpenAI Structured Outputs call groups the changes and writes every line twice: once for users, once for developers.

Verify

Code checks each cited PR and commit against the fetched set. Made-up references are dropped, and anything the model skipped is added back from its title.

Public repos only. Nothing you enter is stored beyond a short in-memory cache.
